2023 Ridge Vineyards Geyserville, Alexander Valley, USA - 375 ml
ABOUT THE WINE
Produced by Ridge Vineyards, “Geyserville” is one of California’s most iconic vineyard-designated blends, sourced from historic old vines in Alexander Valley. Traditionally centered around Zinfandel and complemented by varieties such as Carignane, Petite Sirah, and Mataro, the wine reflects the heritage of classic California mixed-black plantings.
The 2023 vintage showcases the balance and concentration that have made Geyserville a longstanding reference point for American wine. Rich black and red fruit flavors are framed by naturally bright acidity and firm yet refined tannins, allowing the wine to remain powerful while retaining freshness and precision. Careful oak aging contributes subtle notes of vanilla, cedar, and spice without overshadowing the vineyard character.
Ridge is known for transparent winemaking practices, using minimal intervention and restrained use of additives to preserve authenticity and site expression. The combination of old vines, thoughtful farming, and traditional cellar methods results in a wine with both immediate appeal and excellent aging potential.
Excellent alongside grilled steak, braised short ribs, lamb chops, barbecue, or aged cheeses, “Geyserville” also pairs beautifully with hearty vegetarian dishes featuring mushrooms or roasted root vegetables.
