ABOUT THIS WINE
Sur le Mont is a White field blend from various parcels of vines planted in Ampuis and Saint Cyr Sur le Rhone (a couple towns up the river from Ampuis) - Roussanne, Viognier, Altesse, and Clairette. Guillaume is always experimenting and really liked the combination of these varieties. The grapes are pressed, followed by cold-settling. Fermentation in steel tank with indigenous yeasts, followed by malo-lactic. 1 years elevage in barrels and steel tank. Light fining & filtration before bottling.

Back in the nineteen fifties RenĂŠ and JosĂŠphine Clusel l began cultivating vegetables, fruit trees and CĂ´te-RĂ´tie vines, like many other farmers in the Ampuis region, and they sold the wine in bottles. This was a time when CĂ´te-RĂ´tie wines did not yet enjoy their current reputation, but RenĂŠ Clusel's CĂ´te-RĂ´tie was very popular with connoisseurs.
The estate is currently run by Guillaume Clusel, Gilbert Clusel and Brigitte Roch.
It has 20 hectares of vines, on three historic vineyards of the Lyonnais, Ampuis (AOC CĂ´te-RĂ´tie, AOC CĂ´tes-du-RhĂ´ne and Vin de France), Condrieu (AOC Condrieu), Millery (AOC Coteau du Lyonnais).
