2022 Château de Saint-Cosme Côte-du-Rhone "Les Deux Albion", Rhône Valley, France
ABOUT THE WINE
âLes Deux Albionâ is a terroir-driven CĂ´te-du-RhĂ´ne that pulls from higher-altitude limestone, clay, and sand sites outside the Gigondas appellation, showcasing Château de Saint-Cosmeâs broader southern RhĂ´ne holdings. The 2022 vintage is a blend dominated by Syrah, with Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Clairette contributing to the complexity. The fruit was vinified with whole clusters and native yeasts in concrete and large oak vats to preserve freshness and structure. The resulting wine balances richness with tension: floral aromatics meet brooding fruit, while a mineral undercurrent from the limestone terroir adds lift. The texture is velvety yet structured, ideal alongside grilled lamb, ratatouille, or hard-aged cheeses.
