Nestled in the heart of Sancerre, in the village of Saint-Satur sits Domaine Roc de lâAbbaye. With winegrowing origins dating back to the 11th century, the Domaineâs vineyards are heavy in Silex, a coveted soil type found in only 15% of the vineyards in Sancerre. The wineryâs distinctive style and terroir produces wines with amazing minerality, acidity and precision with trademark smoky notes.
Helmed by the Mollet family for several generations, today the domaine is run by Winemaker Florian Mollet. Since taking the helm in 2000, he has developed the wineryâs legacy, building a modern cellar and expanding the family estate to 42 acres.
